Kukkiwon is the global headquarters for the Martial Art of Taekwondo and is responsible for Black Belt (Dan) certification worldwide.

The UK Kukkiwon Office manages and administrates Kukkiwon activity and Dan certification within the United Kingdom.

• All groups and clubs wishing to host a Dan promotion test events and apply for Kukkiwon Poom or Dan certification for candidates up to 5th Dan must first apply for and receive sanction for the grading event to take place with an approved examiner panel.
• Dan promotion test events must be approved in advance and applications for certification may not be accepted for gradings taking place without advance sanction.
• The UK Kukkiwon Office also conduct annual High Dan Promotion Tests for candidates wishing to test for 6th and 7th Dan Kukkiwon Certification.
• Candidates have the option of submitting a video based application or attending a physical in person test.
